The Paroli Positive Progression Betting System

Paroli Betting System

Over the last few weeks, we’ve looked at betting systems for online casino games. The majority of them have been negative progression systems. This week, we will look at the Paroli betting system, a positive progression strategy.

The Paroli betting system is one of the simpler betting systems you’ll come across, making it perfect for beginners. It is also a good system for smaller bankrolls as it does not require the same levels of risk as other systems.

What is the Paroli Betting System

The Paroli betting system is a positive progression betting strategy that is used for casino games with basic yes/no styles of results, such as Evens/Odds at a roulette table. Unlike negative progression systems where you’ll increase your bets every time you lose, in a positive progression system, you increase your bets when you win.

The Paroli system starts like most other systems where you’ll determine the size of your initial bet. We will refer to these as units. Like most of our examples in this series, let’s assume a unit is worth $5. Let’s also assume you’re playing roulette and are betting Red or Black.

You’ll start by betting one unit on Red or Black. If you win the bet, you will increase your bet by one. If that bet wins, you’ll go up another unit. However, if you lose the bet, you will drop back to one bet.

One big difference between the Paroli system and other systems is that you will only continue this sequence for up to three winning bets. If you win three consecutive bets, you will then start the sequence over.

Let’s take a look at the Paroli system by looking at 10 hand examples:

The first thing you will notice is that you will bet a lot less overall than you will with other systems. If you go on a long losing streak, you will only lose one unit for each bet. Next, the largest bet you will make is three units. If you’re playing $5 per unit, the most you will bet at any one time is $15.

You Do Not Have to Stick With a Three Bet Cycle

Some of you will probably look at this system and think that it is only suited for smaller bankrolls. While the system is great for those with smaller bankrolls, you can modify the system to suit your needs.

Instead of playing a three-bet cycle, you can increase it to a five-bet cycle. At $5 per unit, that would mean that the most you’d bet at the end of the cycle is $25. Just remember to reset the cycle whenever you lose. The longer the streak, the more you can potentially win. Of course, longer streaks mean that you will risk more per hand.

Paroli Superior to Negative Progression Strategies

Of all the systems we’ve covered to this point, the Paroli system is one of the better systems because it only has you increase your bets when winning. While losing streaks will occur, they will not be as devastating as they would in the Martingale or other systems.

If you have a smaller bankroll, this a perfect system to employ due to the lower maximum bet size. If you lose five straight hands playing $5 per unit, you’re going to lose $80. With the Paroli, you will lose $25.

If you want to be a winner while playing at Australian online casinos, you need to limit your losses as much as possible. The Paroli system will help you limit your losses and gives you a better chance of winning. It is impossible to completely escape the house edge, so over the long term, all betting systems become ineffective. However, the Paroli system is better than many systems used at online casinos.
