Game of the Week – Aloha! Christmas Pokie
We know, it is a bit early to be talking about Christmas pokies, but some of you love to get into the holiday spirit early. Australian online casinos must agree as Aloha! Christmas Pokie has been released at several casinos offering Lucky gaming.
The game features a fun Hawaiian theme set at Christmas time. This cluster pays pokie has an awesome free spins and multiplier wilds feature that can make you some massive wins. Let’s learn more about this fun new game from Lucky.
It’s Christmas in Hawaii with Aloha! Christmas Pokie
Aloha! Christmas Pokie is the latest 5-reel, cluster pays pokie game from Lucky. The game is a bit different from your standard pokie as payouts are done whenever you make a winning cluster combination of five symbols or more. As long as the symbols are touching each other, they will pay out.
There are seven primary symbols consisting of pineapples, coconuts, kiwi, plums, stars, and more. The symbols are very low paying. To win anything substantial, you will have to make multiple cluster wins during a spin. You are playing 40 credits per spin and if you aren’t making multiple clusters, you won’t win much.
Fortunately, there are a couple of features that will help you make multiple wins and give you a shot at winning more prizes.
Tiki Meter and Wilds
Whenever you make a winning cluster, the symbols explode. This will also produce a cascading effect. Symbols will drop down where the exploded symbols were and new symbols will drop above them.
Any exploding symbol will accumulate in the Tiki Meter. Note that after a non-winning spin or cascade spin, some symbols may explode at random and produce a small cascade effect.
Explode at least 6 to get a Wild symbol. This Wild symbol will go into one of the spots where an exploded symbol was. All Wilds start at a 1x multiplier. During the cascading spin, if the Wild is part of a winning cluster, 1x will be added to the Wild. The cascading effect continues until no new winning clusters are made.
You will get Wild symbols at 6, 11, and 16 symbols. If you get really lucky, you will get additional Wilds at 55, 85, and 145 symbols exploded.
At the end of the cascading spin, if you have collected at least 40 exploding symbols, you will trigger the free spins game.
Free Spins Game
Explode at least 40 symbols to unlock the free spins game. You’ll get 5 free spins and any Wilds that you had when you triggered the free spins will also roll over to the game. Also, you’ll start at whatever multiplier they accumulated in the base game.
During the free spins game, the board will be expanded to a 7×7 grid instead of a 5 x 5 grid. This gives you more chances to win and catch larger clusters. Also, any clusters including a wild will increase the multiplier of those wilds.
I was lucky enough to trigger this feature twice. Both times had nice wins. However, the second time I triggered the feature, every Wild got up to at least a 20x multiplier. I ended up scoring a nice win of 93x my initial bet.
Aloha! Christmas Pokie a Fun Medium Variance Pokie
Normally, I am not a big fan of cluster pokies. However, Aloha! Christmas Pokie proved to be a fun game to play. The cascading spins feature and Tiki accumulator adds some excitement to the game, especially when you’re approaching the free spins round.
The free spins round proved remarkably profitable, but getting there the second time took a while. You may experience a bit of variance in trying to get to the free spins game, but it is worth it. Due to the high payout nature of the free spins game, this game lands somewhere in the Medium variance range. At times it will seem more of a higher variance pokie, but some patience will reward you.
