Two Aussie best mates have kept a pact that many others have made and failed to stick to. Western Australia’s latest Megadraw winners are sharing the AU$1.42 million cash prize. Read on to see how it all happened.
Money Split Between Mates
One of the ladies who bought the lottery ticket gave it to her friend as a Christmas present on the premise that should they win, they would split the winnings. This is exactly what the mates of 30 years did when they won the jackpot.
The woman who purchased the ticket stated that she had a vivid dream of winning the lottery only a few short weeks before. The ticket was bought from the Helena Estate Pharmacy & News.
What to do With the Money
Now that the two have kept their promises and split the money 50/50 they have the exciting task of deciding how to spend the money.
One friend states that he is going to assist his grandchildren by putting them through private school and setting them up for life.
The other of the two mates explains that the money she won will help her get out of doing one of her least favourite chores – washing dishes. She plans on replacing her dishwasher with her portion of the Australian Dollars that she has won.
Last Week’s Megadraw
The Megadraw held last weekend saw five winners in Division one of the Lotto take home AU$1.4 million. Additionally, around 311 000 other locals managed to win prizes across other Divisions.
According to the spokeswoman for Lotterywest, Pina Compagnone, the jackpots in 2018 are only going to get bigger and better. With a AU$35 million jackpot up for grabs tonight.
Compagnone states that if all goes well they will announce WA’s first big winners to kick off 2018’s wins, tonight.
